Estate agents 'optimistic about fall in house prices'

Estate agents in the UK are optimist about the recent fall in house
prices as it could lead to an increase in property sales, according
to a report.
Today (August 10th), Rics released its July UK Housing Market
Survey which revealed that there has been a decline in house values
over July - the first drop since July 2009.
It attributed this decline in value to an increase in the number of
properties coming back on the market.
Rics spokesperson Ian Perry said: "Agents are still generally
optimistic about sales activity which should benefit from more
realistic pricing of properties."
According to the survey, nearly a third of surveyors predicted that
prices will continue to fall over the next few months, while eight
per cent more surveyors than in June said that they anticipate the
number of houses for sale in the UK to rise.
Recent research by Zoopla.co.uk also revealed that 32 per cent of
properties on its website have reduced their asking prices at least
once.
